President Bush, Republicans and other right-wing-whackjobs have done an outstanding job convincing (non-colored) American’s that they need to fear brown People, especially if they are Muslims and from a 3rd world country.
Not me. I don’t fear brown people, Muslims and I’m especially not afraid of fuckin’ terrorists.
America has home grown terrorists that I fear more, they’re called gangs, and we’ve been losing our war on gangs since the dawn of time. So no politician can convince me that they will win the war on terror in Iraq – It ain’t never gonna happen folks!
You know who I fear? Rich, white men with power, influence and an agenda. They’ve done an outstanding job destroying our country all on their own!
Oh and Catholic Priests scare the shit out of me too!
Oh and Lik Kim makes me want to hide under my bed with a vile of vinegar water and a cross.
So, because (many) American’s believe ANYTHING you tell them about Brown folks and Muslims, it comes as no surprise to me that the New Yorker Magazine has decided to play on folks fears by depicting Obama and his wife as Muslims and terrorists! Sadly, I don’t find the humor is this. Do you?
The July 21 cover, titled “The Politics of Fear,” is intended to be a parody, an attempt to show how “scare tactics and misinformation” are being used to try to derail Barack Obama’s campaign, says cover artist Barry Blitt.
“I think the idea that the Obamas are branded as unpatriotic [let alone as terrorists] in certain sectors is preposterous,” Blitt wrote in an e-mail to the Huffington Post. “It seemed to me that depicting the concept would show it as the fear-mongering ridiculousness that it is.”
