The Public Enemies promo tour kicked off with the premiere in Chicago on the 19th, and the Los Angeles premiere was held last night.

My Celluloid God plays Agent Melvin Purvis, the man who tracked down John Dillinger. Bale spent time with Purvis’ relatives to prepare for the role and even visited the late law enforcer’s grave with his son Alston, who is pleased with Bale’s portrayal of his father

“Bale had my father’s mannerisms and accent down to the exact detail. He is a superb actor. He wanted to see my family home in South Carolina. We went to the cemetery to see my father’s grave ,” Contactmusic quoted Alston as saying.

Super, Sexy Slag Johnny Depp explained to Entertainment Tonight why he feels the public was so drawn to the charismatic outlaw.

“I don’t know that John Dillinger’s a bad guy,” he says. “Maybe the title of the film is ‘Public Enemies’, but I wouldn’t say he’s an enemy of the public.”

Depp also spoke about the rumors that he could play the Riddler, and star alongside Bale in the next Batman film.

“I don’t know you know I’ve been asked about that here and there ,” he says. “I’d love to do another film with Christian in any capacity, whether it’s a batman thing or whatever it is. I certainly love the series.”

Speaking of Batman, in a recent interview Bale was asked if there would be a follow-up to the Dark Knight:

“I really cannot tell you if there will ever be another Batman movie. Chris [Nolan, director] has obviously done an incredible job with it. He’s devoted to the movie that he’s on right now. I’m none the wiser about we’ll ever be revisiting Gotham or not.”
