And Here I Thought Dude Was Dead
For those of you who’ve been lurking around here for the past year or so, you KNOW me. You know the type of shit I like and you know the type of shit that pisses me right off. When I read about this new reality show, ya’ll know I was ready to mount the back of a gay man and race through Hollywood shoe beatin’ bitches:
Page Six is reporting that Pauly Shore will star in a new reality show about his search for an African orphan. London-based Shine Group has picked up international distribution rights for “Adopted” – which follows Shore’s efforts to adopt an African child.
So, Pauly Shore, who clearly has run out of material, is getting paid to exploit poor, needy African children for the sake of a laugh. Ain’t Hollywood great!!
Is it because I’m black that I don’t understand the point of this show? Well, wait, scratch that. Now that the weed smoke has cleared, I totally understand the POINT: for white folks to laugh at the expense of unfortunate Africans.
I guess the real question is, who is going to play mammy? I know the target audience for this show will need mammy’s nipple to suck on while Pauly’s faux love for the poor African babies provides comic relief.
I just set my DVR to remind me NOT to watch this show when it airs.
