Madoff Associate Found Dead
I knew it was a matter of time before we found the lifeless body of someone a part of Madoff’s swindle spree.
Jeffry Picower, the former New York lawyer and accountant alleged to have taken in $5.1 billion from the Bernard Madoff investment scheme, was found dead at the bottom of his pool on Sunday. He was 67.
The Palm Beach Police Department said Picower was found Sunday afternoon by his wife and could not be revived by fire rescue workers. He was transported to a local medical center where he was pronounced dead at about 1:30 p.m.
The police department said it is conducting an investigation into Picower’s death, which is standard procedure in any drowning.
