In Not So Shocking News…..
Of course Hollywood’s Black celebrities dissed the 2010 American Black Film Festival because they are too busy defending their tragic hairlines, or beefing about outfits, or dissing black women, or trying to buy out an entire white country to film a music video, or dressing up like Mammy to serve as comic relief for insecure Black women and white folks who favor the emasculated black man.
And besides, the American Black Film Festival is not Massa approved, so any Black celeb who is making their living by swinging from the Tip of Massa’s dick won’t be found at anything that celebrates all things Black and Festive.
For 14 years, the American Black Film Festival has reigned as the nation’s most prominent black film festival. The festival, which took place this past weekend in Miami, allows inspiring filmmakers to showcase their work to respected individuals in the film industry.
However, the 2010 ABFF lacked the explosive star power that is needed for a premier film festival.
The biggest names at the 2010 ABFF included Spike Lee, John Singleton, Lee Daniels, Robert Townsend and Idris Elba. But Will Smith, (his wife Jada), Denzel Washington, (Oprah), Halle Berry, (Beyonce), Taraji P. Henson, Morgan Freeman, Don Cheadle, Terrence Howard, Jamie Foxx, Tyler “Mammy” Perry and Forrest Whitaker were no-shows.
The snubs were embarrassing and signaled that blacks in Hollywood are still not supporting each other. The major production houses are releasing five major black films or less each year, (and most of them are very coonish).
