Dame Taylor Says Jolie Can Play Her When She’s Dead

“I have never heard that before! I don’t think anybody can be better at being Elizabeth Taylor than Elizabeth Taylor.” – Jolie told reporters last week on the rumors that she’s in the running to play Elizabeth Taylor in Mike Nichols’ film based on the new book Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and the Marriage of the Century. “I would be honored. I’m fascinated by her and the mystery…but we haven’t gotten a script yet, so we’ll see if something’s good enough and we’ll try and make it.”
Despite the casting rumors, no one is going to play Elizabeth Taylor, this according to the Dame herself, via her Twitter account.
“Hold your horses world. I’ve been hearing all kinds of rumors about someone being cast to play me in a film about Richard and myself,” Dame Liz Tweeted last Thursday. “No one is going to play Elizabeth Taylor, but Elizabeth Taylor herself.”
“Not at least until I’m dead, and at the moment I’m having too much fun being alive…and I plan on staying that way,” she added. “Happiness to all.”
