Emma Watson’s Post-Potter Film Role

Hollywood is so hard~up for fresh content that The Suits have resorted to making films about dead assistants of dead celebrities. (insert eye roll).

Emma Watson has landed her first post-Harry Potter film role in an upcoming movie about Marilyn Monroe called My Week With Marilyn.

Michelle Williams will play Monroe in the film about Colin Clark who worked as Laurence Olivier’s assistant on 1957 picture The Prince And The Showgirl, which he filmed with Monroe.

Clark kept a diary of events behind the scenes which was published forty years later as The Prince, the Showgirl and Me. He followed it up with My Week With Marilyn, his account of an episode that did not make an appearance in the previous book.

Monroe, feeling abandoned by her new husband, Arthur Miller, threatened by Olivier’s attitude and stifled by sycophants that surrounded her, turned to Clark for amusement. A very proper English gentleman, he takes her to Windsor Castle to meet his godfather, they drop in to his old school – Eton College, and go for a “scrumptious” afternoon tea.

Emma, who is taking a brief break from her university studies and her eco-friendly fashion line People Tree, will reportedly play the role of a wardrobe assistant, acting opposite Kenneth Branagh, Dominic Cooper and Judi Dench.
