Because We Really Need A Remake of ‘Uptown Saturday Night’

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith will produce a remake of Uptown Saturday Night – the classic 1974 comedy starring Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier.
Black Voices reports that Warner Bros. and Will’s Overbrook Entertainment have hired comedy screenwriter Tim Dowling to rewrite it.
Uptown Saturday Night centers on two estranged friends who have their wallets stolen at a nightclub. The next morning, they learn that one of their wallets contained a winning lottery ticket, so together they set out to find it.
Word on the Skeet is that Will and Denzel Washington will star in the film, and as long as they don’t involve Tyler Perry, I might check this out when it airs late night on the Oxygen network.
